A story about proactive ownership
The Selvaag history is the story of a company and a family who is motivated by and engaged by mutual ambitions and values: Concern and Creativity.
During the 60 years since the company was established, these values have been a continuous basis for the company’s activities and for the family’s future planning.
The entrepreneur Olav Selvaag
In 2012 Selvaag will celebrate the 100th birthday of our founder, Olav Selvaag.
The Ekeberg house, which was finished in 1948, was the basis of OS becoming a well know figure in Norway. His extraordinary capacity for innovation and his concern for a society which needed reconstruction after the 2.nd World War, led him to a total remodeling of Norwegian housing construction.
The industrialist OGS
Under OGS’ leadership (1986 – 2010) , Selvaag experienced a considerable growth in volume and assets. OGS developed the company through his role as a pioneer within commecialised housing construction on a large scale, establishing new housing concepts in the Oslo area.
His personal engagement in arts is behind the company’s extensive engagement within fine arts.
The third Selvaag generation
Since 2008 the third generation of the Selvaag family has been playing an active part in the Selvaag company; Olav Hindal Selvaag through his role as Executive Vice President for Residential and Project Development, and Gunnar Frederik Selvaag as Executive Vice President for Capital Investments.
